The Gran Hotel Inglés is a relevant example of when excellence in interior design is achieved to convey both modern luxury and history. The hotel got inaugurated in 1886. They were already offering luxury and technological advances of the moment such as electric lighting, telephone or running water on all floors. Many original structures, such as the iron columns, were respected. You can even find two original ceiling lamps at the entrance and reception.
It has also been a luxury for me, as a photographer, to have such quality “raw material”. And while some materials like velvets are very difficult to capture, with the right technique and inspiration, the result conveys the authentic atmosphere of the place.
